It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Plank Studio opened its doors in Wayne. But next week on Tuesday, April 7th, the popular Megaformer Pilates studio will celebrate its one-year anniversary, and they’re doing it in style — with a day of free classes, of course.

There are nine Megaformer classes on the freebie schedule, with times ranging from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The 5 p.m. session is already completely filled, and I’m told spaces in the others are going fast, so you’d better sign up soon if you want in.

For the uninitiated, the Pilates classes at Plank take place on massive 10-foot-long Megaformer machines. They’re rigged with pulleys, springs, a sliding platform, and stationary grips to allow you to work lots of muscles at once using your own body weight and adjustable resistance. The result is a seriously challenging total-body workout in less than an hour’s time.

In addition to the free classes, Plank’s one-year anniversary party will free juice from The Juice Philly, tunes spun by a DJ and raffle prizes. More info — and a link to sign up for classes — is here. Plank Studio is located at 532 West Lancaster Avenue, 2nd floor, in Wayne.
