I-495 Bridge Removed from Google Maps

Closed due to tilting, it's like it never existed.

NBC 10 reports: “Internet giant Google eliminated a portion of Interstate 495 in Delaware from its iPhone and Android map apps and online maps after a bridge along the highway was closed because it was tilting. The road which snakes along the Delaware River in Wilmington is used as a fast bypass of Interstate 95, the major East Coast artery.”

Meanwhile, Newsworks reports: “A contractor in Delaware said his company dumped a massive amount of dirt next to a heavily traveled interstate bridge, and state officials say that may have made the span unsafe for drivers. State officials think the large amount of dirt dumped over several years may have moved the ground and caused the bridge columns to tilt toward the pile of dirt.”
