Let’s talk wedding invitation etiquette: There are a whole lot of rules involved in getting your guests’s addresses written just right, and depending on whether or not a couple is married, living together, has special titles or using the same last name, it can get a bit confusing.

Well today, we stumbled upon a handy guide by the folks over at Wedding Paper Divas that breaks down everything you need to know about addressing your invites, and it’s just the sort of thing you might want to have on hand while you’re trying to get this list together. They’ve got every possible combination covered here—from unmarried couples who live together to married couples with hyphenated last names and guests with distinguished titles—so all you’ll have to worry about when you go back through your list is double-checking for misspellings.

Also included in that guide is perhaps one of the most helpful tools of all: an address generator that does all the work for you. If you’re not sure how to format one of your envelopes, just plug the guest’s info into the interactive form and it’ll show you exactly how to write out the address.

Combine this with our handy guide to all the various printing methods and the accompanying jargon, and you’ll be an invite whiz before you even tackle this part of your to-do list.
