Workers Dig Up Human Remains in North Philly

Police are investigating after a construction company made the discovery in Nicetown-Tioga.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after workers found human remains in North Philadelphia yesterday.

A construction company found the bones at a digging site on the 1700 block of W. Atlantic Street in Nicetown-Tioga. 

Police were called to the seen around 4:30 p.m. Officers discovered what appears to be a jawbone and a portion of a pelvis. The remains were confirmed as human by a forensic investigator and taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for analysis.

The investigation is ongoing with the North Detective Division.
