Report: Pastor Wanted for Rape Is in Ecuador

But Jacob Malone has promised to return to Pa. this week to surrender.

The Exton pastor wanted for raping a teen girl who lived with his family is in Ecuador, but has hired a lawyer and plans to return to Pennsylvania authorities this week.

Jacob “Jake” Malone is wanted on charges of rape, institutional sexual assault and related offenses. Huffington Post reported on his whereabouts Tuesday night; CBS 3 also reported the story this morning.

According to the West Whiteland Township Police Department, Malone met the female at a church in Mesa, Arizona, when she was 12-years old; he was a pastor at a church she attended. When she was 17, he invited her to Minnesota — where he was then pastoring — to stay with his family. She was also invited to live with the family in Pennsylvania in July 2014, after Malone moved to join the ministry at Calvary Fellowship in Downingtond; police say he began sexually assaulting her that fall. After she turned 18, the victim told police, Malone gave her alcohol twice — on one of those occasions “the victim alleged that she became highly intoxicated and was molested by Malone.”

Philly.com reports the woman became pregnant, and that Malone resigned after confronted by church leaders at Calvary Fellowship in November. No word on when, precisely, Malone will surrender.
