Chesco Pastor Wanted on Rape Charge
A Chester County pastor is wanted on charges he sexually assaulted a teen girl who lived with his family.
Jacob “Jake” Malone, 33, Exton, had served on the staff of Calvary Fellowship in Downington. Officials who answered the phone at the church this morning said a member of the staff would offer comment later today.
According to the West Whiteland Township Police Department, Malone met the female at a church in Mesa, Arizona, when she was 12-years old; he was a pastor at a church she attended. When she was 17, he invited her to Minnesota — where he was then pastoring — to stay with his family.
“While in Minnesota, the victim alleged that Malone began trying to have inappropriate contact with her,” police say in their report.
“In July 2014, Malone moved his family to Chester County where he was starting a new position as a Pastor at a church in the county. Malone again invited the victim to live with him and his family and he even registered the victim in a local high school. The victim reported that Malone began sexually assaulting her in the fall of 2014 while she was living at his residence in the unit block of Atherton Drive in Exton, Pennsylvania. The victim also reported that she attended the church Malone was a Pastor at during this time period.”
After she turned 18, the victim told police, Malone gave her alcohol twice — on one of those occasions “the victim alleged that she became highly intoxicated and was molested by Malone.”
He is wanted on charges of rape, institutional sexual assault and related offenses.
Police say Malone may have fled the state. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the West Whiteland Township Police Department at (610)363-0200 or (610)692-5100. Anonymous tips can be left at (610) 594-9057.
