Senator Casey Squashes Beef With Ed Rendell

Former Governor Ed Rendell recently criticized  Senator Bob Casey’s campaign for re-election—or, as Rendell perceived, a lack thereof. Casey’s media consultant met Rendell’s criticism head on in an interview with the Inquirer by suggesting that the former guv was unaware of Casey ad buys in multiple Pennsylvania markets.

“I guess it’s obvious that [Rendell] didn’t know that,” Shorr said. “But I guess that’s why the people who live out there thought when he left office that he was governor of Philadelphia.”

Casey’s campaign, though, backed off the consultant’s remarks and tried to squash the beef with Rendell by issuing a letter indicating that the comments had not been approved by the campaign and that Senator Casey appreciated Rendell’s support and looked forward to campaigning with him.
