Councilwoman Wants Ads on City School Buses

It’s hard to envision a better way to raise money for Philly’s public schools than drinking for an extra hour, but councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown might just have one. She wants to put ads on school buses. For kids in the city it’ll be like going to school in a really big NASCAR vehicle—especially when they start a pileup. If you’d rather have these ads than have the bars open till 3 a.m., just remember that a Tastykake banner on a school bus is the start of a slippery slope that ends with a Pizza Hut in Rittenhouse Square and you using a token to look at a duck.
