TV Ad Breaks Boundaries

A local clothing company gets rave reviews for its trans-friendly campaign

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Well, this ad is the first to ever talk about trans apparel on national television.

It was created by local company Suddenly Fem which provides a line of clothing for men who want to dress like women. The company’s vice president of marketing Tyler DeSouza told The Seattle Lesbian: “We were thrilled to be able to promote our special brand on television. This sort of opportunity was not available when we started this company almost 20 years ago. The ability to market our quality products for the transgendered shopper has been a challenge over the years.”

The 30-second ad has already aired on Bravo, E!, Spike and VH1. And there was even an online campaign created that tied into the third season of the hit show RuPaul’s Drag Race on Logo this season.
