Just a quick heads up that the Manayunk Bridge Trail officially opens for business tomorrow (hooray!), and if you want to be among the first to check it out, there’s an official ribbon cutting ceremony happening at 11 a.m. Not sure how to get there? The Bicycle Coalition is leading group bike rides to the ceremony from two locations in our area.

One group will leave from Cynwyd Station Cafe (375 Conshohocken State Road, Bala Cynwyd) at 10:20 a.m., riding along the Circuit Trail to the bridge.

The other group will leave from Center City, meeting at the Locust Street Railroad Crossing on the Schuylkill Banks — it’s right at 25th and Locust. That group will leave at 9:20 and ride along the Schuylkill Trail and Kelly Drive and up through Manayunk on Main Street.

Once it opens tomorrow, the Manayunk Bridge Trail will connect Philadelphia to Montgomery County by way of a bike-and-pedestrian bridge. Specifically, the bridge will connect the Cynwyd Heritage Trail in Bala Cynwyd to the Ivy Ridge Trail in Manayunk.

The group rides to the opening ceremony are free, but you can RSVP over here.
