If your first thought after stepping into the sunscreen aisle at CVS is Agh! So. Many. Options. Somebody, ANYBODY, help! then today is your lucky day: The Environmental Working Group just released its 2014 Guide to Sunscreens where you will find everything you need to know about the best sunscreens on the market. Phew! Convenience store crisis averted.

EWG ranks each sunscreen on a scale of low-hazard to high-hazard based on ingredients and UVA/UVB protection. Then they put together a list of the very best low-hazard sunscreens out there, which are divided into two categories: Best beach and sports sunscreens and best moisturizers with SPF. Useful, huh?

The guide also includes a list of sunscreen don’ts and, I’ve got to say, they’re pretty surprising: Don’t use spray sunscreens (They may pose inhalation risks. Yikes.), don’t use super-high SPF sunscreen and don’t use sunscreen towelettes—just to name a few.
