Run: Y12K to Benefit WHYY

This race raises funds for Philly's public TV and radio outlet. Elmo will thank you.

If you grew up watching Sesame Street, you have a reason to run the Y12K, a 7.45-mile race supporting Philly’s public media station, WHYY. Proceeds will help fund the station’s many TV and radio programs and support their community outreach efforts, such as end-of-life care advocacy group Caring Community. Now in its third year, the November 12th race will take runners along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from the Art Museum to Falls Bridge and back. Find the distance daunting? Sign up the whole squad for the 3K Family Walk/Run instead.

$50 ($15 for 3K), November 12, 9 a.m., Philadelphia Museum of Art, 26th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
