Because our “spring” weather has been so erm, generally unpleasant, it’s hard to grasp the concept that summer is nearly here. To help build up the excitement, Old City’s Torc Yoga is hosting a summer countdown celebration, dubbed Torc Recharge. This soiree will be held in true Torc style  as in, with lots of yoga, self-care, and healthy snacks.

The day of the celebration, May 19, will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with barre and stretch, followed by a yoga sculpt dance party, a weekend warrior class (Torc’s signature warming alignment-based flow), acro yoga, and then wrap up with a 3:30 p.m. music meditation.

Throughout the day, you’ll avoid hanger with the help of Yomi Bites —gluten-free, dairy-free snack bites which will be available for purchase — plus freebies of Torc’s own Day Starter smoothie, granola bites, and protein snacks. And on the topic of food, Torc’s in-house nutritionist will also be on hand, and you’ll have the chance to observe a nutrition demo with tips for living a healthy lifestyle.

This event is free (except for the meditation, which is an additional $10) to all Torc members — those who have purchased one of the unlimited-class memberships, which start at $75. If that’s not you, fret not  non-members are welcome as well.

Non-members can take advantage of a half-price $10 drop-in rate for all classes during the Recharge event, or they can purchase a day pass for $50, which includes a 15-minute massage. To reserve your spot for this lovely day of health and wellness at Torc, you’ll want to contact the studio here.

Torc Yoga is located at 31 South 2nd Street in Old City.
