Trinity Tuesday: Looking for a Charmer on a Quiet Cobblestone Alley?
One of our favorite pastimes is to take a Saturday afternoon and walk the quaint, romantic alley streets of Washington Square West, Society Hill and Bella Vista. One such street is Bradford’s Alley, a brief cobblestone path that abruptly dead-ends at the Society Hill Playhouse on 8th Street.
The street is lined with tremendous homes, including a handsome trinity (check out that roof!) that recently caught out eye. As you might expect, it was built in the mid-1860’s and features original hardwood floors, tall windows and built-in bookshelves. There’s also a private garden area with custom brick planters that’s accessed from the charming kitchen space.
Sure, we love that it’s on a tiny block that’s seemingly tucked away from the world, but it’s also right the thick of things. Community amenities like Starr Garden and Seger Park are just a few steps away. So too, is Brauhaus Schmitz and all the action on South Street–including Whole Foods.
