As you walk down the aisle on your wedding day, the last thing you should be worrying about is the longevity of your hair and makeup. Luckily, beauty professionals abound in Philadelphia, from full-service studios to independent artists. These local pros have the industry tricks to ensure your magical day is sweat and tear-proof — giving you more time to spend on the dance floor instead of in front of the bathroom mirror. 

Shimmer and Spice


Owner Kristyn cut her teeth working for a custom-blend makeup line Henri Bendel in NYC, then brought her know-how back to PA as a makeup artist. Now, she’s got a team of talented pros working under her and her company, Shimmer and Spice. They specialize in natural glam makeup, and will work to understand your style so you feel totally yourself (and totally fabulous) on your wedding day. Plus, you can try their custom-blended lipsticks and rest easy knowing you won’t look like any other bride.

The Bonafide Ginger

Stefani Burket is a professional licensed cosmetologist specializing in on-location editorial and bridal hair and makeup styling. The Bonafide Ginger is Stefani’s not quite alter-ego, but it’s what she becomes when she’s working on her Bonafide Brides. Burket describes herself as carrying a “wide palette to be able to accommodate someone who rarely ever wears makeup to someone borderline drag queen,” but she’s known for her boho-chic bridal styles and braided updos (she was even a finalist for braids in Behind the Chair’s One Shot National Competition) and her preference for using vegan and cruelty free products. In addition to bridal styling, Burket also specializes in destination vow renewals and elopements. Her pricing is all a la carte, and she is currently only offering packages for both hair and makeup services. For bridal party bookings, she requires a five-client minimum.

Aleksandra Ambrozy

When Taylor Swift’s best friend got married, Ambrozy was at the helm of the bridal beauty preparations. She can do the same for your special day. Even before that, Ambrozy and her ten-stylist team were well-known within the tri-state area for their accessibility, versatility, and talent. They’ll travel on site to help you prepare for your big day, working together to achieve whatever style you’re dreaming of, be it timeless or trendy. Bridal wedding makeup starts at $375 and hairstyling at $295, but rates vary according to which stylist you’ll be working with. All packages include false eyelashes and the option of traditional and airbrush makeup, in addition to any pre-wedding email or phone consultations you’ll have with the team. For Saturday season weddings, Ambrozy generally requests a bride plus three minimum for the bridal party. They have an adorable office on Pine Street, but they’ll travel on-location as well. The first 40 miles from Philadelphia are included with no extra charge.

Capelli & Trucco is a 15-person team headed by Jacqueline Ryan and Marbree Burris. Both have worked backstage at New York Fashion Week, and now they can bring that same glamour and expertise backstage to your wedding preparations. Their portfolio includes an emphasis on effortlessly chic makeup paired with braided updos and bouncy waves arranged in a half-up, half-down style. Bridal hairstyling and makeup starts at $150, which includes false eyelash application and the option for an updo. Capelli & Trucco also offers eyelash extensions, hair extensions, and microblading for those brides seeking that extra bit of oomph. The best part? They’ll travel on-site for bridal parties of four or more, and they’ll travel for free for locations within 25 miles of their studio. Or, if you’d rather be at their studio, know that they offer unlimited prosecco as well–why not along your bridal entourage?

House of Clarity

Nestled on a jam-packed street of Sansom, House of Clarity is located right above a Pretzel Factory, but don’t let the simple exterior deceive you: inside, a 5 person team of artists and stylists offer full hair and makeup services, perfect for the bride-to-be who wants efficiency. House of Clarity offers eyelash extensions, hair extensions, and tanning services in addition to bridal and wedding party hair and makeup. Bridal hair and makeup both are priced at $150, while hair styling and makeup application for the bridal party starts at $85. All packages also come with the option to upgrade to airbrush makeup, and stylists are available to travel for a fee of 20% of the total services.

ONLO Beauty

The founder of ONLO Beauty, Diana DuHaime, was a Lead artist for BHLDN’s 2018 Bridal Market during New York Bridal Fashion Week, and she’s also got commercial experience working with client such as Samsung and Target. Her personal favorite looks to do are the “Modern Siren” and “Classic Goddess” looks, but her and her team work together to bring to life whatever fresh, effortless and trendy bridal style you envision and desire. Pricing is also equal among bridesmaids and brides, so everyone in the bridal party will shine on the dancefloor. Trial bridal makeup runs are held in their cozy Germantown office, but ONLO provides on-location bridal services for all their brides. If your event is located within 30 miles of Germantown offices, they’ll come to you at no additional charge. But if you’re hoping for a destination wedding, that’s fine too–ONLO has gone as far as Iceland.

The Maverick Bride

Romantic and tousled hair coupled with dewy, bronzed makeup is a stylist favorite at The Maverick Bride, but the stylists there can accommodate much more as well. Owner Alyssa Todorow and her team of four stylists will provide on-site makeup and hairstyling services, from the trial session to the final one, and travel is included up to 50 miles from Green Lane. Bridal packages start at $125 and include the option of airbrush makeup and false lashes.


Beke Beau

Award-winning makeup artist, Beke (pronounced like Becky) Beau, began her makeup career working as an assistant to Laura Geller. A couple of years later, she was working on high-profile weddings, such as that of Catherine Zeta-Jones, and with actresses Gemma Chan and Karla Souza. Aside from being an industry pro, Beau also completed a Master’s Degree at Harvard University and she is the founder and headmistress of the newly-opened Paint School of Makeup.  Despite her expansive career, which has taken her nationwide and earned her awards such as the Wedding International Professionals Association’s “2017 Award of Excellence,” Beau is now Philadelphia-based, meaning she’s she’s available to make you look like a superstar on your wedding as well. She’ll even travel on-site, with no extra charge for the first 50 miles, round trip. Depending on the day and season, she requests a five to six client minimum for bridal parties. JKo Beauty

Before starting JKo Beauty, Jennifer Kochenour worked as a freelance makeup artists for over 20 years, amassing experience in cities like Los Angeles and New York before she relocated to Philadelphia and opened JKo Beauty in 2017. Kochenour’s portfolio features dozens of radiant grinning brides, and though she recommends a “classic and timeless yet modern, stylish look” for her clients, she’s help you recreate any look that enhances your natural beauty. Her bridal makeup packages are priced a la carte, but start at $485 and  also come with the option for: customized false lashes, airbrush makeup, tattoo coverage and body makeup, brow shaping, and skin analysis and facials. Kochenour provides exclusively on-site bridal makeup, but does offer trials runs at her home in Exton. In addition to all that, she runs a blog that is interspersed with bridal makeup tips, for those of you that are already planning ahead.

Housed inside the Old City Collective, Jazmin Rae Makeup is located on the second-floor of the Old City co-working space, right at the end of a block of quaint storefronts. The idyllic location could be the perfect refuge away from the chaos of wedding planning, but Jazmin Rae and her eight-member team are also available to travel, and at no extra cost for Philadelphia-based weddings. In fact, one of the most unique packages offered here is the “All Day Affair” bundle, priced at $2,500,which covers everything a bride-to-be could need: hairstyling and makeup application for entire bridal party, eight hours of continuous coverage, and a bridal touch up kit. If you’d rather book a la carte, makeup application with Jazmin Rae starts at $710, while hair styling is priced between $135 to $190. For Saturday weddings, there is a five client minimum for the bridal party or a $550 minimum of services charges. And you can rest easy: Jazmin Rae Makeup is licensed and insured.

True Beauty Marks

At True Beauty Marks, an agency composed of 14 makeup artists and stylists work together to help you create your ideal bridal look, from blowouts to spray tans. They’re  known for a natural, “undone” style, perfect for letting true beauty shine through. Bridal services are offered a la carte but split into two packages. The premium package includes all high-end, cruelty-free products and working with the owner, Gina Kay, while the other package involves working with your preferred lead artist from the agency, chosen based on mutual compatibility between your vision and their experience. As a bonus, True Beauty Marks also has Groomed, an on-location barber service offering haircut and style, beard trimming, and a straight shave–perfect for those couples that want to get ready together. Both the bridal and grooming services require a five guest minimum.

Jacen Bowman comes with an entourage of past celebrity clients–including Hillary Rodham Clinton–and a variety of titles, including: beauty contributor for FOX 29 WTXF Good Day Philadelphia, Beauty Editor for several online publications, and makeup artist on the Real Housewives franchise. Bowman as worked in a diverse range of commercial and editorial roles, but for bridal makeup he’s focused on storytelling through makeup to create a look “as individual as your personality.” Bowman provides makeup application packages for everyone involved in the wedding (including the groom) and he also offers a “rock out reception” package, which you can either use as a post-ceremony touch-up or as a complete makeup overhaul before the the reception starts. Maybe you want to go for a timeless, radiant look for the ceremony, but decide to opt for a smokey eye and pink lips on the dance floor. Who knows? The possibilities are endless. Bridal makeup application starts at approximately $95.

For major events, fluttery, flirty lashes have long since been sought after through a rotating trial of mascaras, but on your wedding day the sweat, tears, and heat can threaten even the most waterproof mascara–that’s where eyelash extensions come in. If you want doe eyes, but don’t want the racoon-eyes consequences that come with mascara, then LashBee recommends their hybrid and volume full eyelash sets, both of which will photography fabulously and also stay on through the ceremony and the honeymoon. The Philly-born and based business even offers bridal lash parties, if you and your bridesmaids want a similarly eye-opening  experience. And if lashes aren’t necessarily your thing, then LashBee also offers bridal makeup, and they’ll even throw in a pair of LashBee strip lashes, no extra charge, for those that are still extension-shy. The Classic eyelash set is priced at $290, while the Volume eyelash set is priced at $345. Bridal makeup packages start at $85, and travel fees are $25 per stylist for locations within a three mile radius of the salon and a customized quotes for longer mileage.

This beloved Phoenixville salon recently launched an on-site bridal services counterpart to their salon called Prenup. Despite it’s cheeky name, Prenup can easily accommodate traditional tastes as well, from the classic blowout to a barely-there “is her skin really that good?” makeup look. But if you want something more intricate, the stylists here can also create a braided bun and striking red lip combination that’ll make you feel like a hollywood starlet. Regardless of what your taste is, Prenup is committed to providing stress-free beauty preparation–they’ll come to you, so you won’t have to worry about a thing. Bridal hair and makeup is priced at $125 and includes the choice of airbrush makeup and false lashes.

Greater Philadelphia Area

YMK Designs blends together creative directing and makeup artistry under the experienced eye of Yumi Kim, who cites her childhood love of drawing as one of the reasons she went into makeup artistry. Kim brings to her bridal artistry a background in Creative Directing, which means each look she creates carries a hint of editorial-ready glamour. YMK design specializes in Asian beauty, and Kim’s social media feeds are rife with popular Asian beauty brands, but her passion for helping her bridal clients actualize their wedding vision is applicable to everyone. In addition to bridal makeup, she also offers keratin lash lifts, eyelash extensions, and dermaplaning. As an independent artist, Kim takes on a limited number of weddings each season, but she brings to each bride her undivided attention, and her work has taken her worldwide. Price upon consultation.

Dimant prides herself on an extreme focus on skincare and skin prep, all of which is pivotal to creating the natural, glowing makeup she’s known for helping her brides creates. She provides on-location bridal makeup, with no travel fee for any location within 25 miles of Center City, but she also hosts bridal makeup trials in her Rittenhouse studio. Pricing starts at $150 for bridal makeup with a $300 minimum.

Intricate braids and retro waves are just some of the looks offered by the five stylists here, and regardless of what you go for, you can rest assured knowing it’ll stay in place as you hit the dance floor. If you’re looking for some extra sparkle, Ariel Katrina Hair has a partnership with Hair Comes the Bride, which offers discounted prices on a wide variety of bridal hair accessories, from crystal pins to gemstone-studded hair vines. Pricing for bridal hairstyles is priced at $200 if done by Katrina and $150 if done by a lead stylist. Ariel Katrina Hair requests a minimum of four people to be receiving services on the day of, and 50 miles of travel is included, roundtrip, with additional fees for every mile over.
