These 8th Grade Sweethearts Married in the Most Perfect Pink Wedding at The Logan Hotel

The flowers. We can't get over the FLOWERS.

Not many people can say that they’re still in contact with their 8th grade crush, let alone still in love with them, but that is just the case for Sarah Goodheart and Jonathan Decker. Planned by Kim Rosen Events, their elegant and romantic wedding at Philadelphia’s The Logan Hotel was an unforgettable day for the pair, and an unforgettable source of inspiration for us when we first saw the 360-degree ceremony set-up and gorgeous pink reception florals. Check out some of our favorite moments and details in the photos below captured by Philip Gabriel Photography.

It was her smile and his humor that sparked an art class romance for these two Doylestown natives turned doctors. Growing up just five minutes away from each other, Sarah and Jonathan’s young love continued to develop throughout high school at Central Bucks East. The relationship continued through undergrad, despite attending different universities — American University in DC for her and Emory University in Georgia for him — and reconvened at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where they both attended medical school.

After eight years of dating, the duo ventured to the Florida Keys for a weekend getaway from med school. There, on their way to a private dinner overlooking the ocean, Jonathan asked Sarah to spend forever with him — and hired a photographer to clandestinely capture the moment.

Two years later, after graduating from medical school, Sarah and Jonathan exchanged vows on June 10, 2017, at the Logan Hotel. Jonathan slipped a gold band on Sarah’s finger that both her mother and grandmother wore. Their outdoor ceremony featured a beautifully draped chuppah, monogrammed seating, and a tallit made by Sarah’s grandmother.

The celebration continued in a flower-filled ballroom where guests sipped on Old Fashioned’s and Blushing Brides — the couple’s signature cocktails of the evening — while nibbling on a delicious chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Their custom monogram made a second appearance on the dance floor, and guests dined amid breathtaking arrangements of  blush and ivory blooms.

The newly married pair danced to “What Would I Do Without You” by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors for their first dance. At night’s end, they bid a farewell to friends and family with monogrammed black and white cookies — she likes chocolate and he likes vanilla — before departing for their honeymoon tour of Sorrento and Positano in Italy. Post-honeymoon, the couple returned to their Doylestown home where they both work as resident physicians.
