New Rankings: Philly is the Second Most Expensive City to Throw a Wedding In

It was only two years ago that Philly ranked as the country’s tenth most expensive city to get married in, but according to a new round of stats from Thumbtack, our standing has (unfortunately) changed—we’re now No. 2 on their list of the priciest places to get hitched, based on the costs of 12 wedding must-haves.

With wedding spending up 20 percent from 2015 to 2016, Philly couples can expect to spend an average of $15,434 on wedding essentials alone—that includes catering, photography, music and flowers. Take a look at the individual vendor breakdown below and see how we compare to other cities here.

This falls in line with another recent ranking of our lovely town as number 123 on a list of 150 of the best cities to get married—primarily due to the high cost of getting hitched here.
