ICYMI: Here’s Mariah Carey’s Enormous Engagement Ring
If the #snowmageddon news is the only thing you’ve been paying attention to for the past few days, you may have missed the big announcement that Mariah Carey is once again an engaged lady—and even if you saw that, we’d hate to think that you have yet to gaze upon the rock that she said yes to.
The songstress said “yes” to billionaire boyfriend James Packer last Thursday night in New York City, and the internet has been going crazy ever since.
Here’s why: The aforementioned ring features a truly humongous diamond ring—we’re talking a whopping 35 carats!—that takes the cake as one of the largest rocks in Hollywood history (it’s bigger than Beyonce’s and Kim Kardashian West’s rings combined).
The diamond and platinum sparkler was designed by Mariah’s longtime friend Wilfredo Rosado, who says it was the most challenging piece he has every created—aside from the pressure of designing a ring for one of the world’s most diamond-obsessed divas, Vogue.com reports that he had just over two weeks to get the $10 million ring ready.
