Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, and Cyndi Lauper to Campaign in Philly This Weekend

If nothing else, at least this year's election is upping the city’s star quotient.

Singers Stevie WonderCyndi Lauper, and Katy Perry will make separate appearances in Philadelphia this weekend in effort to get out the vote in the city as Election Day nears.

Wonder will perform at a rally for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at the Coda Philadelphia nightclub as part of the Clinton campaign’s “Love Trumps Hate” concert series.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. for the event, which is located at 1712 Walnut Street in Center City. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP online and show email confirmation at the door for access.

Singer Katy Perry will also perform as part of the series, headlining a free concert at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday. Perry, who attended the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center in July, has been a longtime public supporter of Clinton. Tickets are still available for the event, which will work the same way as Wonder’s concert – just RSVP and show confirmation at the door, which open at 5:30.

And in another celebrity appearance slated for this weekend, Cyndi Lauper will join Debra Messing of “Will & Grace” for a bar crawl in the Gayborhood on Friday night. The stars will accompany former governor Ed Rendell and Democratic Senate candidate Katie McGinty for the event, which is organized by the Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club.

The crawl will kick off at 9 p.m. They crew aims to make it to six bars by the end of the night. It’s a pay-as-you-go event, and those looking to attend can RSVP on Facebook.

According to CNN polls released yesterday, Clinton leads Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Pennsylvania by four percentage points. Clinton secured 48 percent of support from the state’s poll participants, while Trump received 44 percent.

Trump held an event on Tuesday in King of Prussia, where he stopped at a Wawa and bought Tastykakes.

Melania Trump, the candidate’s wife, is scheduled to speak in Berwyn today. It will reportedly be her first solo campaign event.
