Nutter Denies Ever Fixing a Ticket

Mayor built career on ethics and clean government.

Mayor Nutter did not fix a ticket at traffic court while he was a councilman, his spokesman says.

“City Councilman Michael Nutter never asked a Traffic Court employee to dismiss a traffic ticket nor did he instruct his staff to seek that,” Nutter spokesman Mark McDonald said in an email to the Daily News.

The denial came a day after a witness in the ongoing trial regarding corruption in the now-defunct Traffic Court alleged then-Councilman Nutter was among politicians wo “who had requested favorable treatment on tickets for people they knew.”

Nutter, of course, has spent much of his career as a reformer, focusing on ethics and clean government. [Daily News]
