VIDEO: Brian Sims Introduces Bill to Close the Gender Gap in Pay

Philly rep: "More than half our population is being discriminated against."

State Rep. Brian Sims, D-Philadelphia, helped introduce House Bill 1890, which would give women recourse if they find out they’re paid less than male counterparts—women make less than 80 cents for every dollar a comparable man makes, he said—and also protects women from retaliation by employers if those women seek information on how their pay compares to co-workers.The bill was part of a sweeping package of reforms, aimed at women voters, introduced today by Pennsylvania Democrats.
