Today’s Google Doodle Pays Homage to Local Anniversary
Today’s Google Doodle celebrates the 79th anniversary of the debut of the drive-in movies. On June 6, 1933 the first drive-in movie theater opened on Crescent Boulevard in Camden. Richard Hollingshead supposedly opened Park-In Theaters after he was inspired when his, ahem, rather large mother complained to him about the size of normal theater seats and said that she wished she could park her car in the theater.
