Flashback Friday: Blondie

Here's your Rapture-inspired playlist

With everyone focused on the end of the world tomorrow, it got us thinking about an old favorite of ours: “Rapture” by Blondie. Not only does it make for a great soundtrack for Saturday’s supposed doomsday, but it features some interesting cameos – one of which is from artist Jean-Michel Basquiat who stands is as a DJ in the video.

Starting off with the Blondie hit from 1981, we created a complete Rapture-inspired playlist:

“Rapture” (Blondie)

“It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” (REM)

“Waiting for the End of the World” (Elvis Costello)

“Idioteque” (Radiohead)

“The End of Everything” (Trivium)

“Jerry Falwell Destroyed the Earth” (Ben Kweller)

“Black Hole Sun” (Soundgarden)

“The Last Page of History” (Godley & Creme)

“The Earth Died Screaming” (Tom Waits)

“Here Comes the Flood” (Peter Gabriel)

“The End” (The Doors)
