Eli Massar, executive director of PhillyCarShare, is translating that organization’s brilliant concept to a brand-new rent-by-the-hour commercial kitchen called Philly Kitchen Share. The space can provide extra burners for caterers short on space as well as the opportunity for you to start that cupcake delivery business you always wanted.

The 800-square-foot kitchen, at 1514 South Street, comes equipped with 14 professional-grade burners, five ovens, two industrial mixers, a grill, a griddle, and a deep fat fryer. Masser says he also plans to hold regular cooking classes led by prominent local chefs, giving students the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience. Afterward, students can also look forward to eating their handiwork in a relaxed, fun setting with the chef.
