Homefront: All Propped Up
Well-dressed tables are no longer the stuff of fantasy magazine spreads — at least not since the Product Gallery opened in Lambertville last November.
Lynn Butler Beling, a freelance stylist for O, The Oprah Magazine and a former senior editor for Martha Stewart Living, and Jaime Rojas, former retail manager of Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani, wanted to open a home store devoted to entertaining. So they filled it chock-full of Royal Copenhagen china, hostess gifts, candles, champagne flutes and saltcellars, styling everything themselves (of course) on farm tables and vintage furniture.
The mix is modern and Old World: Alessi and Georg Jensen flatware, Japanese etched tumblers, vintage-looking Bauer pottery and black clay pottery from Mexico, luxe Flora Danica hand-painted plates, and clean-lined consoles, side and end tables, and benches created by Paul Robinson, Martha Stewart’s former director of design and
fabrication. Beling’s own line of Lynen tablecloths and napkins are sold in 10 seasonal colors, such as sand, white, yellow, sea green, navy and rose.
“If you want to put together any kind of party in a flash, you could do it all here,” says Beling. She’s got flowers by the stem, French garden buckets, cake stands, pie and caviar servers, hors d’oeuvres forks and place cards to make it happen.
