The Eagles have requested permission to interview Packers director of player personnel Eliot Wolf, according to Jason La Canfora of

Wolf, 32, recently drew praise from Peter King in his MMQB column:

I think the brightest prospect among the young front-office guys is Eliot Wolf, the son of former Packers GM Ron Wolf. Eliot Wolf is 32, and the Packers promoted him to director of player personnel last week, and I expect he’ll be running his own team within two years—if he chooses to leave the Green Bay womb.

Wolf just received a promotion on Jan. 2. He served previously as the Packers director of pro personnel for three years. He has filled a number of different roles in Green Bay since 2004, including assistant director of player personnel and assistant director of pro personnel.

There has been some thought that Wolf could fill his father’s role in Green Bay down the line whenever Ted Thompson retires.

There have now been four names linked to the Eagles’ opening: Ed Marynowitz, Sheldon White, Chris Ballard (reportedly won’t interview) and Wolf.
