It’s Almost Time to Say Goodbye to Philly Public Pools … and to Summer

Act fast and you may be able to sneak in one last dip before Philly's 70 public pools close for the season.

The end is nigh; public pools shall soon be dry.

Yes, somehow it’s already that time of year: the unofficial end to summer. It feels like we were just telling you about the more than 70 pool openings across the city, yet here we are. The end always comes so fast.

While the first spate of pool closures has already begun, the good news is that the doors are shutting on a rolling basis, leaving some pools open through August 23rd. And even when the last outdoor pools are dried and dusted, aquaphiles won’t be entirely out of luck: There are still four indoor pools in Philly open year-round.

Until then, here is the full list of closing dates for the city’s outdoor pools.
