Who: Lyndsey Torre (@lyndsey_tiu4), 28, a teacher from Lacey, New Jersey

Height: 5’0″

Starting weight: 128

Current weight: 114

How long I’ve been on this journey: 4 years

Why I wanted to make a change: “Growing up, I was always involved in sports. This passion continued throughout college as I played lacrosse for Kean University. Soon after graduating, I was engaged to the love of my life, I could have not have been happier, but with the engagement came a move. I was on cloud nine, but I missed having a team or accountability partner to work out with. I went through about three different programs, and one day I saw a show on bravo called Toned Up featuring Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn all about their fitness brand. I checked out their website and fell in LOVE with their style of training. It was all about balance and living a healthy lifestyle, proving you don’t have to kill yourself in the gym to see results.

“From there, my fitness journey was thriving, until unfortunately I became sick for a year, not knowing what was wrong. I felt at a all-time low, I could barely walk, no energy, and my cycle was gone. I started restricting what I could and couldn’t eat because I wasn’t active. Then, as God would have it, I came across Audra, who not only helped get my cycle back but changed my mindset. I started meditating everyday, knowing that one day things will get better. I was tested for lymes three times but a friend recommended I go to a LLMD (lymes specialist) and BAM two strains of lymes came back positive. I am beyond happy to say I am two months into recovery and I feel blessed and a little better each day.”

What all changed: “There were so many benefits, aside from physical changes, I gained throughout my journey. Starting Tone it Up gave me the sense of ‘team’ that I was missing in my life.”

How I changed my exercise plan: “I follow Tone It Up’s weekly schedule and incorporate yoga at a local studio near me. I used to think you had to run to burn calories and see results; that is not the case! Find a workout routine you love, and listen to your body! If I ever start a workout and feel exhausted and feel like it’s a chore, I switch it up and maybe just go for a walk outside. The most important thing to me is that I am just up and moving my body.”

“I used to think you had to run to burn calories and see results; that is not the case! Find a workout routine you love, and listen to your body!”

How I changed my diet: “I now eat a plant-based diet. At first, I was nervous to make a change, but after reading through the benefits when I was sick, I wanted to try to give myself a better chance at healing. Since making the change my energy is through the roof, digestion better than ever, and I know I am fueling my body with vitamins and minerals!”

What I’m most proud of:  “It may sound crazy, but my mindset! I used to look at pictures, hoping I would look like XYZ, but now I am comfortable in my skin and know fitness is a lifestyle, not something with an end option.”

What I want everyone to know: “Don’t compare compare your fitness journey to someone who has been doing theirs for years! Everyone is at different points, it takes 21 days to form a habit! Find what works for YOU, find healthy food that YOU love. Just because a celebrity eats eggs each morning doesn’t mean you have to; eat it to fuel your body and you should look forward to each meal!”
