Two much-loved Philly spots in the fitness and healthy-foodie world — one fitness, one foodie — made the jump to new locations last week. Check ‘em out below.

Greensgrow West
Moved from: 4912 Baltimore Avenue to 5123 Baltimore Avenue, West Philly.

Greensgrow, the non-profit urban farm based in Kensington, set up shop across town two years ago with a second location on Baltimore Avenue. And now, West Philly folks, your weekly Greensgrow CSA pick-up experience is about to get even more lovely: Last week, Greensgrow West moved just a few blocks down to a bigger and better Baltimore Avenue space that features an expanded garden center, a high tunnel, demonstration green roofs, rain gardens, a chicken coop, a composting bathroom, repurposed shipping containers for retail space and offices, and an outdoor classroom for neighborhood schools and organizations to use.

The farm has officially moved to the new space is and is holding their usual weekly CSA pick-ups, but the grand opening won’t be for a few weeks — that fun will be going down on September 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. Why, yes: That IS during the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, if you were wondering. Expect live music, free food, a farmers’ market, cooking demonstrations, horseback rides (!!) and kids’ activities.

Joltin’ Jabs
Moved from: 1510-12 Sansom Street, Center City to 201 South Camac Street 4th floor, Midtown Village.

Late last year, Joltin’ Jabs, the Manayunk boxing studio that just so happens to be home to Cecily Tynan’s favorite fitness class, opened a second studio in Center City. But before you head to Sansom Street to get your sweat on with owner Joey DeMalavez (and you will get VERY sweaty — trust us), note that, as of last week, the Center City studio is located at 201 South Camac Street in Midtown Village. As DeMalavez told us, “I wanted that area from the very beginning. So excited!” You can check out the studio’s schedule here.
