Introducing the All City 20-Miler, the Ultimate Training Day for Fall Races

Man, the Philly running community is on fire. First we had our second annual Run to Work Day last week, which, by all accounts, was a smashing success. Now Philadelphia Runner and Team Philly Race Training are announcing a brand-new citywide training event aimed at helping you get in tip-top shape for your fall marathons, half marathons and other distance runs. It’s the All City 20-Miler, and you’re so going to want to be there.

Here’s the basic gist: On Saturday, October 24th, Philly Runner and Team Philly will be hosting massive group runs along a fully supported course — that means pace groups, hydration stops and energy gels along the way to keep you moving. There will be 20-, 14- and 10-mile runs to join, so you can pick according to your training needs. All runs will start and end at Lloyd Hall at 8 a.m.

The course map will be available soon, but Liz Pagonis from Philadelphia Runner tells me the groups will head towards Valley Green in the Wissahickon. Water stops stocked with the new official fuel of the Philadelphia Marathon, Carb Boom energy gels.

Oh, and the best part? The entire thing is free.

As of this writing, over 350 people have already signed on to join in. You can RSVP over on Facebook.
