Today is Cinco de Mayo. And you know what Cinco de Mayo calls for? Guacamole (and margaritas, of course, but we’ve already got that covered.) And lucky for you, this past weekend, Chipotle released their guacamole recipe online for everyone in the world to use at their leisure. Perfect timing, right?

Chipotle’s official guac recipe calls for two ripe Hass avocados, two teaspoons of lime juice, two tablespoons of cilantro, a quarter cup of finely chopped red onion, half of a finely chopped jalapeño (seeds included) and a quarter teaspoon of kosher salt.

Now, for the method: The company’s website says to first, make sure you have good avocados (they should be “squishy yet firm, like the palm of your hand” and a dark green on the inside). Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, then scoop the insides into a bowl. Toss the avocados with lime juice, then add salt and mash with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Fold in the remaining ingredients and mix well, then taste.

And BAM: You’ve got Chipotle guacamole from the comfort of your own kitchen. Insert all the prayer-hands emojis here.
