Run for a Cure

Head to Horsham this Saturday to help children with autism

We’ve known for sometime now that autism is increasing in our children, and the statics are quite unsettling. According to Autism Speaks, a nonprofit that has worked tirelessly to find a cure and the best methods of prevention and treatment since its formation in 2005, the disease affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys. David “Bubby” Ellis was diagnosed at age three. His family has partnered with Autism Speaks to host the 5K Run/Walk for Autism Speaks in Horsham this Saturday, June 18. A family-friendly event, face-painters and balloon animal artists will be on hand to entertain the youngsters, and kids under age 18 can run for only $10. All proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks to help others like Bubby and their families. — Kathryn Siegel
