The Vampire Face Lift

A procedure that uses your own blood to fill wrinkles

While anyone looking to turn back the clock has had the option of artificial dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, for years, there is now a more natural procedure that promises to fill wrinkles and firm sagging skin. Selphyl, also known as the Vampire Face Lift, injects the patient’s own platelets—taken from his or her blood, hence the blood-sucking nickname—back into the skin to regenerate collagen. While it takes up to three to six weeks to see results, many patients seem happy with the final outcome. Check out a clip of Richard Goldfarb, the director of the Center for Smart Lipo in Langhorne, speaking about the pros and cons of the procedure to learn more.
