- Koresh Dance Co. @ Suzanne Roberts Theatre Roni Koresh’s famed company celebrates 25 years of dance. Grace Maiorano interviewed him earlier this week.
- Le Butcherettes @ Underground Arts Le Butcherettes are a loud, fighty garage rock from Guadalajara.
- Chewing the Scenery @ Icebox Project Space This group show at the Crane Arts Building is curated by Jonathan Santoro and Meredith Sellers. Through March 19
- Tracy Morgan @ Playhouse on Rodney Square, Wilmington, DE The comedian continues his “Picking up the Pieces” tour.
- Young Voices Monologue Festival @ InterAct This edition of the annual festival features 18 monologues by students from 17 different area schools. For a taste the funny, poignant, inventive pieces, check out InterAct’s #AMonologueADay posts. Through March 19.
- Robert Randolph and The Family Band @ Ardmore Music Hall With Nik Greeley & The Operators. A night of funk/rock/soul/blues.
- Witchfinder General @ Colonial Theatre Phoenixville’s beloved theater dusts off a low-budget Vincent Price classic from 1968.
- Foxing @ Union Transfer If, like me, you’re a sucker for singers singing their heads off, you might want to give this St. Louis band a moment of your time.
- The Women @ Egopo Theater critic David Fox didn’t love EgoPo’s production of Clare Boothe Luce’s The Women, but it gave him a lot to think about: “Back to that first image — without revealing too much, I can say that what we see is a child, seemingly sleeping or floating in a sea of white satin. Or is it a casket? Is the image happy dreaming… or a nightmare… or death?” Through March 20.
- Cy Twombly: Sculpture @ The Art Museum You’ve had since 2013 to check this one out. Now you only have a few weeks. Through March 27.
- Monster Mania Con @ Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill Lots of kinda celebs from the horror world will be on hand, including: Matthew Lillard, Danny Trejo, four lesser Lost Boys, two different women who killed zombies (and kissed Rick) on The Walking Dead and Yorkies. March 11-13
- Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place @ Boot & Saddle The Pinback frontman’s new group.
- Japanese Breakfast/Painted Zeros @ Pharmacy All-ages show in a coffee shop, also featuring Real Life Buildings, Izzy True, and The Dove & The Wolf.

- Soft Targets: Vulnerability and Violence in the New Post-Apocalypse @ Free Library Metropolarity, APIARY Magazine, and the Library team up for “an afternoon of writers’ workshops and readings.” We’re talking smart, conscious sci-fi by people who feel passionate about it.
- MC Lars @ Milkboy Philly Witty, popculty hip-hop from California.
- Karaoke Gung Show @ Trocadero Hosted by Skeletor. Nice to list the regulars once in a while.
- Snails @ TLA There’s more than one act called Snails out there. This is the Montreal producer/DJ (not the Future Islands side project).
- Eldar Djangirov @ Chris’ Jazz Café Jazz piano, 8 & 10 p.m. sets.
- Oneohtrix Point Never @ Union Transfer Experimental electronic music. An Ars Nova show, in case you didn’t know.
- Hell Under the El @ The El Bar Loud rock show featuring Workhorse III, Pigment, Anthrophobia, and Prone to Violence.
- Thin Lips @ Everybody Hits Also on the bill: The Max Levine Ensemble, Worriers, and Bellows. I’m liking what I’ve heard from Thin Lips so far. Fun, smart indie rock with a video to match (see below).
- Mount Moriah @ Boot & Saddle The alt-country darlings bring the Boot back to its roots.
- Alice @ The Mutter Museum Eat cookies, drink lemonade and watch “Czech master animator Jan Svankmajer’s Alice (1988), a unique adaption of Alice in Wonderland.”
- Limon Dance Company @ Prince Theater For its 70th anniversary tour, the LDC performs three piece by founding choreographer José Limón.
- You & I Forever @ Tattooed Mom This event celebrates the second issue of You & I Forever, a photozine featuring images inspired by “music, beauty, & a love for life.” Lorelei Narvaja took the photos; Foxx Boogie provides the music at the party. The zine is free.

- Enter the Haggis @ World Café Live Upbeat Celtic folk rock.
- Candlelit @ Dreaming Tree Music Featuring I Try, You Try, Chelsea Mitchell of Dirty Dollhouse, and Snagwing, in a candlelit room. Sounds like a blissful night of music.
- Kneedelus @ Johnny Brenda’s “A Live Collaboration between Kneebody + Daedelus.” Ape School is also on the bill. Expect weirdness.

- Greg Dulli @ First Unitarian Church Sanctuary The Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers frontman returns with an “an evening with” solo tour. The opening act is “literary stylist” (aka funny poet) Derrick Brown.
- Kino Polska: Polish Film Marathon @ Associated Polish Home Screenings of Bogowie and Ogród Luizy.
- Black and Cuba @ The African American Museum Screening and discussion with filmmaker Dr. Robin Hayes. This is in conjunction with AAMP’s current exhibit, Drapetomanía: Grupo Antillano and the Art of Afro-Cuba, on display through March 20.
- Hawthorne Heights/Mest /The Ataris @ TLA Emo/punk all night.
- Writers at Work Conference @ Whitpain Farm A conference on “Managing the Business of Being An Author” in Blue Bell, PA.
- Kickstand Boyfriend/Katana Girl/A Virgin @ the Fire Also on the bill: A band called F#*@. I think because Fuck is already taken. Anyway when you go to buy tickets, that band is replaced by RP Perkins and/or RR Perkins. So, I dunno. Fuck it.
