When it comes to making tough calls under pressure, Carson Wentz knows a thing or two about weighing his options and picking the right play. Which is why it only makes sense that when it came time for Wentz to sign his first local endorsement deal he chose to partner with Philly-based energy supplier, NRG.

“I love that they provide their customers with so many energy options and great service,” Wentz said. “But, more importantly, I love that they are based in Philly and do so much to support the local community.”

As the official energy provider of the Philadelphia Eagles, NRG is helping ensure the Eagles are among the most energy-conscious professional franchises. In 2012, the Eagles franchise and NRG announced their plans to utilize wind and solar power for Lincoln Financial Field. Today, more than 11,000 solar panels and 14 micro wind turbines power the stadium. And now, NRG’s latest addition to Lincoln Financial Field is powering fans more than ever. Portable power kiosks throughout the stadium concourse provide fans with portable power packs that charge their mobile devices throughout the game.

What’s more, Eagles fans can choose from a range of energy plans that combine their love of the game with simple ways to make powering their living rooms on game day (and every day between) that much easier. When you choose the NRG Eagles Fan Plan you’ll score an authentic Eagles helmet just for signing up. Or you can opt for NRG’s latest expansion of natural gas services, which allows you to bundle electric and natural gas together.

But you don’t have to be an Eagle or a fan on the 50-yard-line to feel the impact of NRG in the Philadelphia community. NRG Gives, the company’s crowd-sourced charitable program, allowed the public to vote for one of three nonprofits to receive up to $100,000 in charitable donations throughout the year.  The charities that were nominated this year were MANNA, Gift of Life Family House, and the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.

Wentz joins teammate Connor Barwin as an NRG ambassador and, just like he’s done for the Eagles this season, is helping Philadelphia build toward a brighter future.
