WATCH: An Inside Look at the Makings of Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2017 Bridal Collection

You saw how excited we were to announce that Oscar de la Renta’s gorgeous wedding gowns were once again available here in Philly. (ICYMI: Elizabeth Johns in Ardmore’s Suburban Square is now the exclusive carrier of the brand in PA.) We’ve long been fans of the late designer’s fashion house—which is now under the direction of the talented Peter Copping—and it seems the designs are only getting more beautiful with each passing season.

Just last week, Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2017 bridal collection hit the runway at Bridal Market, and once again the new gowns were romantic, ladylike and quite varied in style and silhouette (you can check out all the looks here!).

Obviously the finished products are the best part of any bridal collection, but it’s also really fascinating to see the work that goes on behind-the-scenes in preparation for the big debut. Harper’s Bazaar joined Copping for a tour of his NYC headquarters to give us all an inside look at the makings of Oscar de la Renta’s latest batch of bridal gowns—and we thought any of you ladies with your eye on an Oscar gown would appreciate it as much as we did.
