Philly’s Got a New Wedding & Event Entertainment Group: Meet American Deluxe 

Thena Gordon is just one of the talented singers at American Deluxe.

Philly native and musician Clay Sears has performed and recorded—you’ll find him most frequently on guitar—with his fair share of music royalty: Jay Z, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, John Mayer, and Britney Spears are just a few of the many artists he’s worked with throughout his 25 year career.

And now Sears can work with you and your to-be, too: After over two decades of studio work and touring, he has put that life on hold to launch American Deluxe, an entertainment company and band based right here in Philadelphia that can perform at your wedding and private events.

“I started American Deluxe as a creative outlet into which I can pour my energy and still maintain the highest level of quality,” Sears says. “With this new venture, I’m bringing all that I’ve experienced and learned while working with A-list artists to the private event marketplace. Our mission is to present and perform music at a level one would expect to see in a major venue.”

Although their main format is a 10-piece band (including a DJ and three vocalists), Sears says they can accommodate any sized requests, from a duo up to a 30-piece band if needed. And Sears himself will always be on stage too, rocking out with the rest of them.

When it comes to your Big Day, Sears is full of ideas to make the entertainment unique and different. From a video wall with a live camera feed (“So people can see themselves a la the Kiss Cam at sporting events,” he says) to a DJ set and lighting to mimic the mood of an actual night club, Sears and his team will create a one-of-a-kind experience for you and your guests.
