Rough as it is, I’m sharing this CNBC article because unfortunately, I think I have heard of every single one of these wedding scams happening at some point or another in the news—which means they really do happen to real people.

It talks about five wedding scams that engaged couple should look out for, ranging from fake vendors and reception gifts being stolen to counterfeit goods (yes, brides, even including the dress!) and even some things that wedding vendors themselves need to look out for, because sadly, they can get scammed, too.

Each and every one of these situations makes me sick, but like I said, they happen. Knowing they’re out there and a few of the red flags that just might be a warning that someone is up to no good can only help to make sure you steer clear of them in your planning and dealings leading up to your Big Day.
