Really agree with this, from where I sit—and whether or not you particularly care that these things are “trends” (I always advise brides not to—just do what you want!), there are some really fun ideas in there for you to chat with your caterer about. Doesn’t have to be all butlered hors d’oeuvres and choosing between the beef or the fish, you know.
