20 Gay Things To Do in Philly This November
November is a very good month to be thankful for the LGBTQ community in Philadelphia. There’s a little something for everyone on the agenda, from a series of cabarets by Quince Productions to the Philly Beauty Ball to the 10th anniversary of the Philadelphia Voices of Pride. Here’s our picks for 20 great gay things to do this month.
Merlin and Wart: It’s the first full-length play ever staged at Tavern on Camac, and it’s based on the tale of the Byberry Mental Hospital on the outskirts of Philly. Thursday, November 5th through Sunday, November 22nd, various times, $25, Tavern on Camac.
Eric Jaffe at Penn 6: Eric Jaffe will serenade diners at Penn 6 with his ukulele skills during this special evening with a fix menu and wine pairings. Thursday, November 5th, 6 pm, $35-55, Pennsylvania 6.
Philly Beauty Ball: The popular amateur drag party is returning for its 6th year, and will feature Bev as the Mistress of Ceremonies. All proceeds benefit The Attic Youth Center, plus there will be special contests all evening. Saturday, November 7th, 7 pm, $10, Woody’s.
HoneyGasm Sunday: It’s the sexiest way to start your week, featuring HoneyTree EvilEye, Mora Love, Tesla Tease, and acro burlesque by Tiel and Eric, plus The Notorious OMG. Sunday, November 8th, 8 pm, $10, Franky Bradley’s.
Martha Graham Cracker Industry Night: Love Ms. Martha, but work in the theater or restaurant biz? The fabulous cabaret is playing a special Monday evening show for those who perhaps can’t make it to her normally scheduled programming. Monday, November 9th, 7 pm, $15-20, L’Etage.

G Philly Comes OUT at Borgata: Our first ever partnership with Atlantic City’s Borgata is shaping up to be quite an evening, featuring a cocktail party, mingling, and piano bar. Stick around after for Alan Cumming in concert. Saturday, November 14th, 4 pm, pay as you go, The Borgata.
What Makes Me Pissi: Pissi Myles returns to L’Etage with Bev, Christy Girlington, and Sherry Vine. She’s even offering a group discount for parties of five or more. Saturday, November 14th, 8 pm, $8, L’Etage.
Back 2 Basics: The Stimulus welcomes back DJ NiiLo for the neighborhood’s best queer dance party, including a bunch of sick drink specials and a self-proclaimed “cheap ass cover.” Saturday, November 14th, 10 pm, $5-10, Tabu.
Shakedown with Colette: Our own resident DJ Carl Michaels will be helping celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Collete’s Hypnotized album release, the most downloaded House dance alum on iTunes in June 2005. Saturday, November 14th, 10 pm, $10, The Barbary.
Out/Spoken: The acclaimed Story District is coming to Philly to present a one-night only collection of true tales on being queer, questioning, and proud. Sunday, November 15th, 7 pm, $15, Crist Church Neighborhood House.
Full House Cabaret Series: The same people who bring you the city’s only LGBT theater festival present their series of cabarets, from an evening of divas and jazz to improv and songs. Wednesday, November 18 through Sunday, November 22nd, various times, $20, SkyBox at the Adrienne.
Out4STEM Job Fair: Learn how to develop a resume, perfect your interviewing skills, and meet with potential employers at this LGBT-friendly job fair for youth aged 16 to 24. Thursday, November 19th, 5 pm, free, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Trans|Post Opening Night: William Way Community Center’s annual exhibition featuring artwork by trans designers kicks off with a reception highlighting Linus Curci, this year’s featured artist. Thursday, November 19th, 6pm, free, William Way Community Center.
Drag Mafia at Spartans NYB: Brittany Lynn and her crew are taking over South Philly for three shows in one night. Tickets include bottled beer, food, and, obviously, entertainment! Friday, November 20th, 7 pm, $30, Spartans NYB.
Stimulus Black and White Party: Wish Stimulus co-producers Amber and Morgan a Happy Birthday at this huge queer event, featuring three dance floors, go-go dancers, and DJs to spin beats all night long. Friday, November 20th, 10 pm, Voyeur Nightclub.
Déjà vu- Ten Years Later: The Philadelphia Voices of Pride celebrate 10 years at this birthday concert, featuring Broadway, classical, pop, and more. Come hear the only Philly choir that includes members from the entire LGBTQ community. Saturday, November 21st, 8 pm, $15-25, Trinity Center for Urban Life.
Shampoo Nightclub Reunion Party: It’s a major throwback when Shampoo returns for a one-night only reunion. DJ Robbie Tronco (along with many others) will be spinning tunes, and there will be live performers, drag queens, and lots more. Saturday, November 21st, 9 pm, $15, Skybox Event Center.
IBA ConnX at Ritz-Carlton: The Independence Business Alliance, Philly’s LGBTQ chamber of commerce, will be invading the Ritz for an evening of networking, mingling, and cocktails. Reservations are requested, although walk-ins are welcome. Monday, November 30th, 5:30 pm, $15, Ritz-Carlton.
