The William Way Community Center has announced Philadelphian Linus Curci as the featured artist for their upcoming Trans|Post exhibit, which features an open-call collection of postcards created by those who identity as transgender, intersex, innersex, genderqueer, and nonconforming.

Curci is a graduate from Moore College of Art and Design, and his work has been featured at the Society of Illustrators in New York and the Kimmel Center. His digital illustrations will be featured at the William Way Trans|Post exhibit as a showcase, and program director R. Eric Thomas says that the public will immediately be drawn to Curci’s work.

“Linus’ work has an arresting intimacy,” Thomas said. “The street scenes are familiar and alien at once, which I find extremely compelling. There are concomitant threads of warmth and isolation in his work that I think will resonate with anyone who has the privilege of seeing it.”

The community is still encouraged to submit potential works for the upcoming show. Interested artists can mail their postcards by November 6, or drop them off in person at the Center.

The show opens on November 19 with a public reception starting at 6 pm. Admission is free, and the gallery will be open Monday through Friday, 11 am to 10 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
