Chester Officer Shot on Domestic Violence Call

Officer was shot "multiple times," police say.

CBS Philly reports: “Chester city police officer was shot in the line of duty around 3:30 this morning. … The incident happened near 12th and Culhane streets where the officer was responding to a domestic violence report.”

NBC 10 adds:

Chester’s Deputy Police Commission Otis Blair says that the officers knocked on the door, but no one answered. That’s when the suspect appeared with a gun.

A gun battle ensued between the suspect and officers. A 10-year veteran of the force was hit in the lower left part of his body and the suspect was hit multiple times, said Blair.

The injured officer was alert and talking when he was transferred to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
