For Once, Germans Have Nothing To Do With Jersey Shore Bomb Scare
Whenever the doldrums of summer are broken up by a bomb scare at the Jersey Shore, the problem often ends up being related to the fact that German subs used to lurk offshore during World War II—somebody finds an old mine or torpedo that (oops!) didn’t get removed when the Nazi scum were wiped clean from the earth. Not this time.
The Atlantic City Bomb Squad and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit were called in to assist Ocean City police after receiving a report of a suspicious device in a vehicle at 36th Street and Central Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
They were identified as two homemade smoke grenades by the vehicle’s owner, according to police.
The man remains in police custody, Ang said.
Still, we’re going to blame the Germans anyway.
