Today Is The Biggest Day Ever In The New York-Philly Rivalry

OK, maybe not, but it’s certainly a busy day for the rivalry, at least sportswise. The Wall Street Journal points out that today the Nets host the 76ers in the NBA; the Islanders host the Flyers in the NHL, and the Mets are visiting the Phillies. One commonality? All three of those Philly teams seem to suck, at least for now. (The Phillies could still surprise people, but won’t.) That’s quite a bit of sports, but as the Journal notes: “These three rivalries combined don’t match the weight of Giants-Eagles. (Not even if you throw in Jets-Eagles.)”  There’s always next year? Right?
