Water Main Break in Manayunk
Another water main broke in Philly on Thursday morning. This time it was a 12-inch main that broke at Manayunk and Ridge Avenues in Manayunk. At least two homes have already been evacuated. It’s the fourth water main break in Philly in the last 18 days. City officials say the unusually hot weather is a contributing factor to the increased frequency of the breaks. The most dramatic break was the one at 21st and Bainbridge in late July that caused a gas leak and a sinkhole. Crews are still working to repair the damage from that ordeal. [Philly.com]
