NBC Gets Ready for More Than 5,000 Hours of Olympic Coverage

Comcast Corp. is gearing up for NBC’s 17 days of full-scale coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. NBC expects 2,700 employees and free-lancers to contribute to the coverage in London—with help from a 75,000-square-foot broadcast space—and an additional 700-some people to contribute from New York. In total, Comcast expects NBC to produce more than 5,000 hours of Olympic broadcasts for a slew of the company’s cable networks and for the live-streaming service available to subscribers online.
