Erasure, the oh-so-gay synth-pop duo of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke, bring their 80s sound to the TLA tomorrow night (Sept. 8th) for the first Philly show in years. After establishing themselves as a band to watch in the U.K. by the mid-1980s, the guys became a household name with such mainstream hits as “Chains of Love” and “A Little Respect,” as well as a wildly popular – and very cheeky – ABBA tribute album.
In a recent Q&A on his website, Bell shared a joke with fans just in time for the band’s world tour: “As you know jokes aren’t really my forte,” he said. “Okay, what’s the difference between a straight man and a gay man? About five pints! Ta-dah!”
