Multiple sources are reporting that Arlene Ackerman, the controversial superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia, is out of a job. Leroy Nunery, Ackerman’s deputy, will reportedly become interim superintendent while a national search is conducted. Update: Dr. Ackerman’s departure has been confirmed. She will be paid $905,000: $405,000 of that coming from anonymous private donations. Full press release here.
