Fans of the politically liberal commentary on MSNBC are especially wary about Burke. He was a leading fundraiser for George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential campaign.
“If we see (MSNBC’s outspoken evening commentator) Rachel Maddow replaced by Katie Couric (a non-partisan journalist), we’ll know that something has gone wrong,” Crawford says.
