Amis and Terrain Cafe at Devon Yard Are Now Open
The latest additions to the Urban Outfitters restaurant empire debuted yesterday, and we've got menus and a look inside.
The long-awaited locations of Amis Trattoria and Terrain Cafe at Devon Yard opened yesterday in Chester County.
The Devon location is the fourth for the Amis concept, including Bar Amis at the Navy Yard and a location of the trattoria in Westport, Connecticut. Culinary director and co-founder Brad Spence continues to head up the brand, with Kristina Wisneski, formerly of Zavino Hospitality Group and Savona Restaurant in Gulph Mills, running the kitchen.
The menu includes favorites from the original Philadelphia location like bucatini with jalapeño and almond pesto as well as Sal’s Old School Meatballs, in addition to some new selections, like a section of pint-sized pizzas called pizzette. The space features a private dining area, full bar, and exterior covered lounge in addition to the main dining area, which has a view of the open kitchen.
Terrain Cafe is light, airy and plant-filled, with a glassed-in roof reminiscent of a greenhouse — which is exactly where the reclaimed trusses supporting the ceiling came from. The cafe will offer seasonal, locally sourced brunch and dinner in addition to coffee service during the day.
The kitchen is headed by chef Ryan Bloome, who got his start at Teresa’s Next Door in Wayne before graduating form the Restaurant School and working for Starr Catering and in New York. He’s helmed the original Terrain Garden Cafe in Glen Mills since 2011. A few signature dishes from the flagship location, like their mushroom soup and signature burger, show up on the Devon Yard menu.
Amis Trattoria at Devon Yard is open from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Terrain Cafe is open with coffee bar service at 9 a.m. every day, and brunch is served from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. daily. Dinner service will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
